Kenya Day Five

On Tuesday, we visited another Zoe group, this one with the group that is being sponsored by the South East district. This is a new group, that has only been together about six months.

On the way there we saw women in the fields picking tea leaves.

We heard stories and testimonies from a few of the kids.

They gave us the gift of two boxes of bananas for visiting!

And of course they loved the selfies!

We headed out to visit a couple of their businesses. First a very successful roadside hair salon.

Then a young girl who runs a roadside food stand including selling bananas.

And finally another roadside food stand. She also sells potatoes and chapatis.

We popped by to visit a different group and to see a home dedication for one of their students.

And on our way back to the hotel we were finally able to visit the Zoe offices - located on the grounds of the governor's office in Maua.

They have handwritten charts on the wall showing the active groups and their sponsors.

When we got back to the hotel, we did some wandering around out on the grounds.

Since this was our last night the hotel threw us a party, complete with firepit and singing and dancing (and a cake!)
