A Much Better Day

Today was a much better day than yesterday for everyone except Daddy, who had to travel back to Orlando and spend the day at school. Although even Daddy got in a little fun and took a side trip to the IKEA store during a break between classes!

Wesley is coughing less, sleeping better, and according to the doctor sounding less congested. The reason they were adamant we come back for a followup today is the x-ray looked like it might be turning into pneumonia. But based on how well he's responding to the breathing treatments and antibiotics in just 24 hours (plus he has no fever and is still eating well) it looks like we caught it just in time. We go back next Monday to make sure things are really going away.

Mommy was discharged from the surgeon today. Dr. Martin pronounced her well on the way to recovery. Her gallbladder was in his words, "one of the worst he's seen recently" and was very angry and inflamed. Mommy has three little holes in a diagonal line by her right rib cage and stitches in her belly button (where they pulled the gallbladder through). Her stitches will dissolve so no need to go back.

Parker got to attend school at Angels today for the first time in almost two weeks. His teacher and classmates had missed him and all the little kids crowded around the door to the room to hug on "their Parker." He had a great day, was well-behaved, ate a big lunch and even took a nap. He really was glad to be back with his friends.

And then tonight we were joined at home by the Reveron family. Stacee, Aydenn and Emma came to hang out with us and brought pizza! Parker helped Mommy make dessert - sugar cookies with star sprinkles hand placed by loving little hands. The Reverons also brought Parker's birthday present (this kids' birthday never ends!) which included a new piece for his train set, a Lightning McQueen sound book with plush McQueen toy and a new bubble machine for outside. The big boys had a blast playing together and the moms definitely enjoyed some time to hang out with each other and the babies.
