Introducing Our Son

Introducing Our Son - Davis Warren Allen

We are so very excited to announce to you that we have been matched with a little boy who was born July 2, 2010. That date is significant to us because that is the very same week that Debbie had her hysterectomy here. How amazing is God's timing?

In the last few weeks we have been praying and seeking God's discernment regarding his file. We had our pediatrician review his medical records, as well as a RN from Daryl's church and also Dr. Carin Kiser from the International Adoption Clinic at the University of Alabama, Birmingham (they work in conjunction with our adoption agency Lifeline). We submitted our Letter of Intent package for him last Wednesday on Wesley's birthday and received preliminary approval (PA) from China today. His special need is post-operative cleft lip and palate.

He is from the city of Guangzhou in the province of Guangdong. That is in the southern part of China, about a 2 hour plane ride west of Hong Kong. Guangzhou is either the third or fourth largest city in China (with well over 10 million people) and the capital of its province. This city is also where the US Consulate in China is located. All adoption trips to China from US families start in your child's province with a week to do the actual adoption piece and end in Guangzhou for a week so that families can get their child's visa completed for the trip home. So, since our son is from Guangzhou, we will spend the majority of our time in China in this one area.

There is still much official paperwork to be exchanged between here and China over the next few months,
but we are working hard towards our goal of bringing him home before his 3rd birthday next summer.
