The Leesburg Lightning

Last Thursday night we met up with the Pancoast family to finally catch a Leesburg Lightning game in person. We had tried to go to several games but they were all rained out. But on this evening, the Lightning were playing the second game in the playoffs. If they won they would automatically advance to Sunday's championship game at Tropicana Field. We took our chairs and sat out along the third base line. They were great seats!

All three of our boys and the Pancoasts' two daughters ran the bases after the 5th inning. All five kids have spent time together at day camp this summer. Their oldest daughter decided to stay right next to Davis and run the bases with him. They were the last two to cross home plate and folks were cheering them on.

The Lightning were ahead for a while and then lost the lead to the Altamonte Springs Boom. Finally in the 8th inning they scored three runs and went ahead 5 to 3. They held on to win and there was a lot of celebrating on the field and in the stadium.
